Get inspired, trained and connected
Through the three crucial stages essential for women empowerment, AYA training in Burkina Faso was beneficial for these women who, despite their previous training, discovered for the first time tools and learning that stimulate their entrepreneurial capacity. For instance, the business model canvas is a tool that enables women to master subjects such as customer-focused value propositions, finance and pitch.
Ms. Fatoumata Sory, Promoter of Grenier du Paysan (the Peasant's Granary), who participated in the training says:
'I have received training before, but in such a way, it is the first time. This will help me a lot as well as my business and others I might advise from what I have learned here.'
Another participant, Ms. Keïta Hawa was especially taken by the marketing aspect of the training, as product marketing she finds particularly challenging in her own business:
'I learned a lot through this training, especially on the marketing of my products' she said.
Integrating into Aya's network of female entrepreneurs
'Because of this training, I now have a good knowledge of financial and time management and I especially appreciate the connection with other experienced women entrepreneurs' Ms. Soma Fatoumata, Promoter of Cyfy Agro, said.
Apart from training, which is the first step in a long-term connection, AYA offers women the opportunity for more peer-to-peer support through an ongoing network of female entrepreneurs from across the agribusiness sector (a sector which is completely dominated by men). After Ghana, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso, 2SCALE is looking to expand this successful training program to other key countries, such as Côte d'Ivoire, Mali and Nigeria.
