In Burkina Faso, soybean production is estimated at 21,114 tons per year. Processed and marketed in the form of cooking oil, kebabs, milk, couscous, and meal (for livestock and poultry feed), soybean is an important vector of the national economy of Burkina Faso.
The cities of Pô and Léo in the southern and eastern regions of Burkina Faso, are particularly well renowned for soybean production. However, the lack of organization in this value chain affects its economic potential.
To meet the needs of producers organization in these areas and to ensure the traceability of quality soybeans supply, SIATOL (Société Industrielle de l’Agro-alimentaire pour la Transformation des Oléagineux) and 2SCALE organized a series of workshops in Pô and Léo in order to set up agribusiness clusters, aiming to build a more traceable and sustainable supply chain for SIATOL.
