BSS coachs and young agricultural entrepreneurs from various parts of Burkina Faso enthusiastically welcomed the training on the use of the Youth Digital Platform 2SCALE. Aware of the current challenges and emerging opportunities with the use of online platforms in the agricultural sector, the latter did not hesitate to bring along their computers and mobile phones for the training.
The trainer, Théophile MUDINGUE, 2SCALE's youth inclusion coordinator, saw the curiosity on the learners' faces, and from the very first moments of the training, he set about highlighting the key features and advantages of this platform for young agricultural entrepreneurs. According to him, the development of the 2SCALE Youth Digital Platform is aimed at facilitating exchanges between young people taking part in the 2SCALE programme, while offering them local and regional networking opportunities.
In addition, this platform provides a channel for young people to access targeted financial services using digital tools, as well as strengthening the entrepreneurial skills of businesses run by young people, etc. In view of all these possibilities offered by the platform, the learners formulated questions for optimal use of the platform in relation to their individual activities.
Much of the training was devoted to practical sessions on using the platform. Equipped with their computers and mobile phones, the BSS coachs and agricultural entrepreneurs were guided through the creation of their accounts on Youth Digital Platform 2SCALE. This enabled them to familiarise themselves with the two main sections structuring Youth Digital Platform 2SCALE. These are the "Social" and "Training" sections.
For example, in the "Social" section, coachs and agricultural entrepreneurs have learnt to create and share content (photos, videos, texts) that promotes the sharing of experience, business ideas, interaction and the exchange of ideas between them, the creation of events, the marketing of agricultural products, etc.
In the "Training" section, learners were introduced to individual capacity building on training modules related to agribusiness and entrepreneurship. And as if to testify to their grasp of the platform, the coaches and agricultural entrepreneurs proposed and shared content on the platform, thus putting into practice the interactions between them.
At the end of the training, the young agricultural entrepreneurs and coachs expressed their delight at the practical knowledge they had gained from the Youth Digital Platform and its potential to enhance their skills.
To this end, Yacouba KORGHO, BSS coach, said:
As for Mohamed TRAORE, BSS AGRODEV, for him Youth Digital Platform :
At the end of the training course, all the coachs and young agricultural entrepreneurs present made a commitment to make full use of the functionalities of the Youth Digital Platform and to act as information relays for their peers.
